Adrien Fregosi was a French artist born in 1980 in Échirolles and died in March 2024 in Sète from cancer. For over a decade, he tirelessly battled the disease while continuing to paint and create.

His work unfolds primarily through vibrant paintings, created on various surfaces and with recycled materials. His art also reflects the fragility of his physical condition and the urgent need to paint that drove him. He leaves behind several hundred canvases, paintings, collages, and drawings.

Spanning over 300 pages, this posthumous monograph offers a comprehensive overview of Adrien Fregosi’s work, from his fanzine productions to graffiti, papier-mâché, and large-format spray-paintings.

It also includes testimonials from those close to Adrien, through 20 interviews conducted by Julien Kedryna, which offer a deeper understanding of the different facets of an artist with a protean body of work. Critical texts by Marianne Derrien, Georgia René-Worms, Gaëtan Thomas, and Cédric Fauq broaden our understanding of Adrien’s artistic practice and open up new avenues of inquiry.

This book was co-published with the MIAM and with the support of the CNAP.
